Spring was a very busy term in our class. We packed in lots of fun, learning and excitement. We were lucky enough to share this term with Miss Wilde from Edge Hill University. Y5W made her feel welcome into the #DistrictFamily and the pupils will miss her next term. So what did we get up to? Swimming was a big highlight this term. Everybody tried really hard and there was a huge improvement for many swimmers. Confidence grew for many who were a little unsure at first.
We enjoyed reading The Tin Forest, Grandpa’s Great Escape and Botanicum, which inspired our writing. We even created our own unusual carnivorous plants and wrote all about them. We have some very creative imaginations in our class. This thinking about flora fitted nicely with our artwork, inspired by William Morris. Pupils created a botanical design and used tile printing to create repeated patterns. The finished pieces looked wonderful.
Roll on Summer for more learning and fun!
