The children in Y2B have had an interesting time learning about Samuel Pepys and The Great Fire of London.

We traveled back in time and listened to how the events unfolded way back in 1666  in a question and answer session with Samuel Pepys AKA Mrs McFarlane. After some research into how the houses were built way back in the  1600’s the children  made some of their  with the Y2 team showing just how fast the fire spread  one windy afternoon  on our school field.

After  learning  that the fire lasted four days and destroyed St Paul’s Cathedral  the children were then given the opportunity to  draw what they thought the fire would look like. They have thoroughly enjoyed this topic
