Current News

Friends are currently raising funds to develop a sensory/spiritual garden. Our meetings are held every half term on a Friday from 3.30 and last approximately 1 hour. A creche is usually available. Everyone is welcome. If you cannot commit to join us for the meeting, please give us your support by helping out at the many events we are planning this year, or by coming along to the events. Please contact one of the committee members for more details or speak to the school office. Fundraising this year has so far including designing Christmas Cards to sell to families and friends and a Christmas Fair, which was a huge success. Breakfast with Santa was held for the first time this year which proved very popular with the children. Friends put in two bids for funding towards a sensory/spiritual garden. Unfortunately they were not successful and we are currently fundraising to raise money to support the school in this project. Friends supported staff at the school during the Race for Life Event and also the Queens Birthday Celebrations Garden Party. Since the last AGM in April 2016, Friends have given the following donations:- £50 to Just Giving Cancer Research for School Race for Life Event in July 2016. This proved to be a success raising nearly £3,000. Friends also provided all participants with a bottle of water during the event. £500 to District Events to purchase prizes during the year £400 to fund a Christmas gift for every child in the school Picture St Johns Church Crow Ln E, Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside WA12 Our Friends of District raise funds to help enrich the school curriculum. All parents/carers are invited to attend meetings and are warmly invited to lend a hand where possible.
